in Housing & Residential Life.
Over 1,700 incoming students who applied for housing by the priority deadline (March 3), will soon pick their room in the Housing & Dining Portal.
Eligible students received an email on Monday, April 3 with their individual timeslot. Their timeslot is the day and time they can pick their room. A few highlights about timeslots:
- They will stay open for 7 days from the date/time they open. Use it or lose it.
- For the best availability, it is to the student's advantage to select a room when their timeslot opens. This is because timeslots open every hour between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. April 10-14, so more students will be entering the portal to choose their room.
- Students who are a part of a Roommate Group have the same timeslot. One member of the group should select the room(s) and assign beds when the timeslot opens.
Common Scenarios and How to Work Through Them
- Student doesn't see the room type they want.
- Select from what is available. Unfortunately, there are only so many beds available for each room type and depending on your timeslot, the room type you want may not be available. Always have a back-up plan if your preferred room type is not available. If you choose not to select a room, our staff will make an assignment for you after your timeslot closes.
- Student no longer wishes to live in Learning Community housing.
- Contact our office in writing stating that you no longer want this option. Send an email to reslife@mnsu.edu.
- Student changes their mind about their selected room.
- We will not be able to change the student's room assignment. The student should submit a Room Change Waitlist form when it opens on June 12.
